The production opens March 25 and runs through April 24 (previews: March 22 - 24 at 7:30 p.m.). The Guardian called it "a brutally funny, hotly topical play about the confrontation of western liberalism and Muslim conviction that suggests neither side has a monopoly on wisdom," and The British Theatre Guide called it, One of those rarities, a really funny comedy with depth. In October 2004, the play received a staged reading at New Yorks legendary Public Theatre and received its Off-Broadway premiere in February 2005. Richard Bean has become one of Britians hottest new playwrights, recently commissioned and produced by both Londons National Theatre and the Royal Court. Furious Theatre Company will conclude its first season in residence at the Pasadena Playhouse Balcony Theatre with the U.S. Premiere of Tearing the Loom by Gary Mitchell May 24 - June 26, 2005. ### |
